Spring is in the air, and it’s the perfect time to shake things up in your classroom!
Who says egg hunts are just for kids?
In CNA and PCT training, we can turn this classic activity into a hands-on, engaging way to reinforce key skills. Trust me—your students will love it!
Here are three creative ways to bring an egg hunt into your lessons and make learning unforgettable.
1. Body Systems' Abnormalities Egg Hunt (FREEBIE!)
Let’s start with a fun, ready-to-go activity! This FREE printable resource helps students review body system abnormalities in an interactive way.
How It Works:
- Hide 48 printable eggs, each labeled with a body system abnormality.
- Students search for eggs, write down the abnormality, and define it on their worksheet.
- You can play this as an individual challenge or a fast-paced team competition!

2. Calculating Fluid Intake Relay

We all know that measuring fluid intake is a must-have skill for CNAs and PCTs. This relay-style egg hunt turns those calculations into a fun, competitive game!
How It Works:
- Fill plastic eggs with different fluid intake scenarios (e.g., “Mr. Jones drank 240 mL of water and 120 mL of juice at breakfast”).
- Divide students into teams. One at a time, a student grabs an egg, calculates the total intake, and writes it down.
- The next teammate double-checks the answer before grabbing the next egg.
- The first team to finish correctly wins!
This game keeps students moving while reinforcing accurate I&O calculations—a crucial part of their training!
3. Medical Abbreviation Egg Match

Tired of drilling medical abbreviations the old-fashioned way? This egg hunt makes memorizing abbreviations way more exciting than flashcards!
How It Works:
- Write medical abbreviations on one set of eggs and their meanings on another.
- Hide them around the room. Students hunt for matching pairs as fast as they can.
- You can play this solo or as a timed team challenge for extra excitement!
Students will be laughing, moving, and learning—all at the same time.
Make Learning Fun This Spring!
These egg hunt variations add a splash of fun to your CNA & PCT lessons while keeping students engaged.
