Hello, my name is Victoria of “CNA Resources by Victoria”.  I, myself, started as a Nurse Aide in Pennsylvania in 1987 (the year OBRA was born).  I graduated from Carlow College with my BSN and went on to teach 27 years in Health Science for Career & Technical Education.  All in all…I’ve been teaching Nurse Aide since 1990. 

But that’s not really what makes me “YOU”.

What makes me “YOU” is that I’ve taught CNA in all three settings…facility based, trade school/community college and CTE as I stated above.

I know the challenges of all three settings and I would love to help you develop your lesson plans with your specific setting in mind.  I have 13 years experience as a facility Nurse Aide Instructor, 10 years as a community college Health Science Instructor and 27 years as a CTE Nurse Aide Instructor (my current full time position)….with the years overlapping as I presently teach a second setting in the evenings, weekends and summers.  30+ years total.

Obviously I LOVE teaching!  I can’t tell you how many times I run into past students “working the floor” and how proud I am to see them giving excellent care. 

But I’ve noticed the face of the Nurse Aide/Health Science student has changed over the years.  The learning styles have evolved into the need for every single lesson to address all of the learning styles. 

It’s tough. 

Whether it be the short course calendar of the facility programs and the revolving door of Nurse Aides passing the state test and moving on quickly OR the make up time allotment for late arrivals, family emergencies and absenteeism for the trade school/community College Programs.  Let’s not forget all the extra responsibilities of a CTE Program including IEPs, 504s, SPMs, 339 inspections and…..parents and guardians.

Still I have a drive to help create the best educated health care workers out there.  This is my inspiration for this site.  I needed a way to reach all of you.  I want to help.

Oh by the way…

I am also a wife, a mom and a dog lover who loves to hike and hates housework and struggles to “fit in” self care.
