The countdown to the holiday break is on, and if you’re a Nurse Aide instructor, you know the struggle of keeping students engaged during those final few days. That’s where holiday-themed activities can save the day!Â
One idea I love is the “Build Your Snowman” Team Game. It’s the perfect mix of fun and learning, with a festive twist that keeps students motivated.
Â
Â
Here's How it Works
- What You’ll Need: Print out snowman parts (like a head, body, arms, scarf, hat, buttons, etc.)—one full set for each team. All you need is paper, scissors, and some tape or sticky tack.
Â
- How to Play: Create questions related to body systems (or your current unit) and mix in some Christmas movie trivia for extra fun. Teams compete to answer questions, and when they get it right, they earn a snowman part to add to their designated space on the classroom board. But there’s a catch—if they stand first and answer incorrectly, they have to remove a part!
Â
- The Goal: The first team to fully build their snowman wins! Bonus points if you require parts to be added in a specific order for extra challenge.
This game is easy to customize and ensures students review key concepts while enjoying some holiday fun.
Â
It’s a great way to create a collaborative, energetic classroom environment in the final days before the break.
